Abstract

This present contribution is not devoted to a particular aspects of the interpretation of the myth of Inês de Castro, but rather to demonstrating how Jorge de Sena, in his Studies in History and Culture, presents the infinite multiplicity of this myth. In this monumental essay, Sena approaches the myth through a series of successive and complementary readings: by the historical and documentary perspective, by the lyrical, the tragic, the epic and the cosmic dimensions.

Author Biography

Rodrigo Xavier, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)

Professor Associado na Universidade Federa (UFRJ). Doutor em Letras pela PUC-Rio (2010). Fez estágios pós-doutorais na Universidade de Chicago (2016) e na Universidad de Los Andes (2024). É pesquisador do PPBL-RGPL e tem se dedicado à investigação de acervos bibliográficos e arquivos literários, incluindo autores como Eça de Queirós e Jorge de Sena. Contribui desde 2016 com o crítico Jerónimo Pizarro na edição de documentos do espólio de Fernando Pessoa.
