Entre o lar e o balcão
Abstract
This investigation aims to contribuie to the study of the Portuguese presence in São Paulo's city, from 1890 and 1950. The analysis seeks to retrieve the everyday net of relations among the Portuguese iminigrants and the dimensions of their working experiences, reaffirming the activities and commerce, occupations that absorbed both men and women, in their diversity as in their dynamic, observing the plot of relations and tensions established between the public and the private, nacional and foreign, bosses and employees. The intent is to focus on the young men and the boys that used to immigrate to São Paulo in order to work in the commerce - the little salesmen, trying to discuss the issues related to childhood and immigration.
