Abstract

The article reflects on Isabela Figueired’s Caderno de memórias coloniais. Although written in the first person, linking author-narrator-character, the romance criticizes the myth of testimonial truth, introducing fictional construction in its process. The ambivalence of memory touched by contradictory affects develops itself in the problematization of finished regimes of inteligibility. Therefore, it tries to preserve existential inscriptions inside the events, that are always revisited and reread, avoiding the archivist impulse of history.

Madalena Vaz Pinto, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - Faculdade de Formação de Professores

Licenciada em Letras pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC/Rio) onde também concluiu o mestrado e o doutorado em Letras. Atualmente é professora associada da Faculdade de Formação de Professores da Uerj e professora permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras e Linguística PPLIN da FFP. Orga­nizou o livro Gonçalo M. Tavares: Ensaios, aproximações, entrevista (Oficina Raquel, 2018) e é autora de artigos em livros e revistas da área.
