Abstract

After Schlegel made Camões famous in Germany at the beginning of the 19th century, many dramatic texts were written about the life of the author of The Lusiads. It was the fashion for artist dramas (künstlerdramen). Wilhem von Chézy, Uffo von Horn, Friedrich Halm, and Hermann Theodor Schmid wrote plays, although none of them were characteristic of this genre. Friedrich Adolf Ferdinand Flotow and Gustav Heirich Gans zu Putlitz also dedicated an opera to Camões.

Maria Aparecida Ribeiro, Universidade de Coimbra / CLP

Licenciada em Português e Literatura pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ, 1967), Mestre em Literatura Portuguesa pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 1977); Doutora em Letras (UFRJ, 1980). Professora da UERJ (1969-1990), colaborou também com a Universidade Federal Fluminense e com a Uni-Rio. Professora da Universidade de Coimbra (1990-2012), onde fez sua Agregação (2008), dirigiu o Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros e coordenou o Projeto Tempus. Entre suas últimas obras destacam-se: A Carta de Caminha e seus Ecos (2003); Drummon(d)tezuma – correspondência entre Carlos Drummond de Andrade e Joaquim Montezuma de Carvalho (2004); Drummond em Coimbra (2004); Camões. Máscaras dramáticas. Dinamarca (2014); Manuel, Bandeira de uma língua (2025). Tem inúmeros artigos publicados em revistas nacionais e estrangeiras. É membro integrado do Centro de Literatura Portuguesa e membro colaborador do Centro Interuniversitário de Estudos Camonianos.
