Abstract

The present paper aims do analyze Jorge de Sena’s essay “O poeta é um fingidor” and through it investigate the autor’s critical composition, as well as its relations with Fernando Pessoa’s work and the modernisms of Orpheu and Presença. By the end, it aims to demonstrate that Jorge de Sena, through his reading of Pessoa, claims a form of literary criticism capable of comprehending the revolutionary language undertaken by the modernism.

Lucas Laurentino Oliveira, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)

É doutorando em literaturas portuguesa e afri­canas pela UFRJ, mesma instituição na qual cursou a graduação e o mes­trado. Atualmente pesquisa a produção ensaística de Jorge de Sena em correlação com sua atuação docente. Além disso, administra o site Ler Jorge de Sena, sob a coordenação de Gilda Santos, e integra o Grupo de Estudos Interdisciplinares: Linguagens, Mídia e Cultura Pop, coordenado por Luciana Salles e sediado na Faculdade de Letras da UFRJ.
